Building Healthy Digital Habits
Device use is a challenge across generations, yet many children and families are navigating the digital world without clear guardrails or formal education. Students may have constant access to devices but lack the skills, awareness, and judgment to use them intentionally.
School counselors are uniquely positioned to help schools address these challenges—supporting students, building staff capacity, engaging families, and strengthening school climate.
In this Lunch & Learn, Jane Kim will share practical, ASCA-aligned strategies for helping students develop healthier digital habits and stronger critical thinking skills. Participants will explore the root causes of unhealthy digital behaviors and consider ways to move beyond simply limiting screen time toward creating healthier, more connected, and digitally aware school communities.
