»ISCA Leadership
Leadership The 2009-2010 team brings diversity,
professionalism and commitment to our ISCA association. The leadership is
comprised of professional school counselors working in the field at the elementary,
middle school and secondary levels, counselor educators who have expertise
in the area of school counseling, professional development and advocacy, and
an executive director (Dan Stasi) who is able to help negotiate the fine tuning
needed to bring the leadership team together. In addition, our leadership
team represents rural, urban, suburban, and in-between from the great state
of Illinois.

ISCA is proud to be a division of our state organization, the Illinois Counselor Association (ICA). Our collaboration models the ability to recognize our common counselor identity, while respecting the many ways in which that plays out in the environments which support our unique expertise. In addition, our state branch designation with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) provides ISCA with a national forum for our Illinois professional school counselors.
The opportunity to partner with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
is paramount to helping the professional school counselor in the state of Illinois
articulate the expertise and leadership that they are able to provide for their
school communities. Implementing comprehensive, developmental school counseling
programs in every single school, at every single level, is essential in improving
academic, social-emotional, and career choices for all of our students. Remember,
we are superior at creating solutions, because we are trained to be a part of
the solution.
Our membership, partners, state and national associations have a well-deserved
expectation of the outcome of our work. Our newsletter, ISCA homepage (ilschoolcounselor.org),
and our annual spring conference
will provide a forum for these reports.
